Christopher Andrew Baird was born February 17, 1976 in Blacksburg, Virginia. He was the youngest of four children: Leemon C. Baird, Lois A. (Baird) True and Charles A. Baird. His parents, Leemon C. Baird and Jeanne A. Baird, took him from Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida. He received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colorado) in 1994 and graduated in 1998 majoring in Basic Sciences with an emphasis in Computer Science and minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. He took his first assignment as a 2d Lieutenant in the United States Air Force as a missile maintenance officer at Minot Air Force Base, Minot, North Dakota. He attended Central Michigan University and received his Master's of Science in Administration in Information Resource Management and a Master's certificate in Human Resource Administration in 2001. He moved to Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana and served as a captain in missile maintenance. In 2003, Christopher received an honorable discharge from the United Sates Air Force and moved with his family to Trondheim, Norway. He attended various Norwegian courses finishing his studies in 2004 at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) upon successful completion of level 3 Norwegian. He attended a job finding seminar through AETAT, worked 9 weeks with the Norwegian Post Office advertisement center along with other various temporary work. He traveled to Kristiansand to work as a project manager consultant for Magma Projects AS. He moved to Bergen and worked as the onshore operations base manger for Acergy AS coordinating all onshore operations and supply logistics for the lay barge Acergy Piper which is currently working on the Langeled pipeline in the North Sea laying 42" pipe for Statoil. Once completed it was the longest subsea pipeline in the world. He transferred to Aker Solutions, Aftermarket at Ågotnes, Norway where he worked as Operations Department Manager, Acting Supply Chain Department Manager, Support Group Manager and is currently working as an Asset Manager. He is married to Heidi Merete Ekern Baird and has three children, Elias Ekern Baird, Oleanna Ekern Baird and Lavrans Ekern Baird. |
